Faucaria is a succulent native to southern Africa. Belongs to the Aizov family. The name comes from the Greek words "mouth" and "many" and is explained by the fact that the outlet resembles the mouth of a predatory animal.

Transplant, soil

The substrate for cacti or succulents can be purchased at the store. It is better to prepare a soil mixture from the components (1: 1: 1):

  • soddy soil;
  • sheet;
  • river sand.

At the bottom of a wide pot, make a drainage layer of expanded clay. You need to transplant the plant every 2-3 years or as it grows.

Breeding

Faucaria is propagated by seeds and cuttings. It is more convenient to grow a plant in the first way. Seeds must be placed in coarse sand, cover the pots with glass. Moisten the soil regularly. After 30-40 days, you can sprout sprouts.

The vegetative propagation method is more complicated. The apical shoots need to be cut off and placed in river sand. Cover the pot with a bag, spray the substrate regularly. After 4-5 weeks, transplant into standard soil.

Difficulties in caring for faucaria, diseases and pests

With poor care at home, succulents develop diseases. It is necessary to take timely recovery measures.
