Park roses differ from other species in their long and lush flowering. In addition to beauty, some varieties are famous for their high frost resistance. One of them is Morden Sunrise.

Rosa Morden Sunrise - what kind of variety is it?

Rose Morden Sunrise is Canada's first winter-hardy yellow rose. Bred in 1999 in Canada specifically for cultivation in regions with a cold climate. The variety opened a series of garden roses.

What does it look like

Rosa Canadian Park Moden Sunrise has sprawling erect bushes reaching up to 70 cm in height. Flowers with a diameter of 8-10 cm have a yellow or orange color, yellowish shades appear in cold or rainy times (varieties of the variety may have a different color). Terry flowers, smell pleasantly, last up to two weeks, grow with brushes, on each of which 4-8 flowers can bloom. The leaves are shiny dark green.

For your information! Sunrise roses are like floribunda roses.

The description says that the main advantage of the variety is its frost resistance. Canadian roses Morden Sunrise are able to withstand up to −45 ° C and are not afraid of temperature changes. Other benefits:

  • long flowering;
  • variety of colors;
  • disease resistance.

Roses are used in landscaping: they draw the borders of the flower garden, beat borders and lawns. From roses you get a beautiful hedge.

Flower growing

Rose Blush (Blush) - description and characteristics of the variety

Morden Sunrise does not require special care, but some details of planting and care must be observed. Plant a rose seedlings. When buying them, pay attention to the trunk was strong with a long stable leg and always with roots.

Important! The seedling must be grafted. This is determined by the presence of hemp at the base of the stem.

Landing should be done in the fall. So, during the winter, the roots get stronger, and in the spring the bush will be able to please its appearance.

Seat selection

Rosa feels comfortable both in the sun and in partial shade. Although the flower loves plentiful lighting, its overabundance will not be useful, therefore it is better to plant in a well-ventilated place with a slight shadow.

Note! Do not plant a rose on the south side of the house, since in winter in these places the snow periodically thaws and freezes again, which has a detrimental effect on the shoots.

The soil is loose and not acidic. It would be nice to fertilize it with mineral fertilizers or peat, wood ash, humus.

A hole is dug with a diameter of 70-80 cm. The depth is calculated so that the seedling fits 5-10 cm in the roots.

Landing procedure step by step

How to plant a seedling:

  1. Dig a hole 70 cm in diameter.
  2. Add fertilizer in the form of compost, peat or a complex composition.
  3. Plant a seedling, deepening it by 5-10 cm.
  4. Sprinkle with earth, slightly compact.
  5. Spud sapling and water.

Plant care

The rules of care are simple:

  • the variety grows well in drought, but watering is desirable at high temperatures;
  • any soil is suitable for this variety;
  • top dressing is carried out twice: in spring (nitrogen) and in summer (phosphorus);
  • Trimming the bush to give a decorative look is not necessary, it looks beautiful anyway. But after the winter, broken, frozen stems are necessarily removed. Faded buds are also removed. When the bush fades, remove all dry residues and cut off the stems that did not give buds.

Features of wintering a flower

Rosa Titanic - characteristics of the Dutch variety

The need for shelter depends on the place of growth: in the southern regions, sheltering flowers for the winter is not necessary, but in the northern regions it will not be superfluous. In the northern regions of winter, it is harsher: a frozen bush will be restored until mid-summer and, accordingly, will not bloom before full restoration.

Before wintering, those stems are cut out, in which the thorns easily break.

Important! You can not cut the stems in the fall, since the plant can mix up the season and hit the bloom in November.

If the bush is young, it is advisable to cover it for the winter: sprinkle the ground with peat or humus, and wrap the stems in paper. This will protect them from freezing.

Winter

Flowering roses

Morden Sunrise blooms all summer, and with proper care to the very frosts. If roses were well watered in spring before flowering, then in summer watering is necessary only in arid weather.

Rosa Princess Monaco (Princesse De Monaco) - characteristics of the variety

During the dormant period, all inflorescences are cut, stems are cut. The plant stops growing.

Important! After flowering, the bush can not be watered and fertilized.

What to do if it does not bloom

The lack of flowers on the bush can be explained by several reasons.

  • Young or old bush. The quality of flowering directly depends not only on the conditions of detention, but also on the age of the flower. Too old a rose does not have enough strength for flowering: the stems will become wooden and will not be able to deliver nutrients to the tops of the stems. And young people have every right not to bloom in the first year at all. Therefore, it is recommended to remove all primroses until August, and then leave a few buds.
  • Too much shadow. A lot of sunshine is bad, but little sunshine is also bad. Roses love the sunshine. Due to lack of light, the bush may not bloom for a long time.
  • Competition on the site. Not with all kinds of crops roses get along quietly. Among the inappropriate neighbors are lilac, spirea and mock-up. If they grow nearby, they will take nutrients from the rose.
  • Improper care and illness. Frequent watering and fertilizing also leave their mark on the formation of buds, and in the presence of diseases or pests, you should not wait for flowers at all.

Flower propagation

The rose is propagated in three ways: by dividing the bush, cuttings and side branches. The time of the procedure depends on the method.

  • Division of the bush - spring.
  • Reproduction by lateral branches - spring.
  • Cuttings - autumn, spring.

The division of the bush is carried out in the spring. To do this, the entire bush of roses is carefully dug out of the ground and divided into several parts using a sharp secateurs. Ready plots are planted in holes and watered. It is also advisable to spud seedlings.

Important! Each plot must have several buds and roots.

Cuttings many flower growers spend in the fall. Each stalk should be at least 10 cm. Cut branches are wrapped in peat and plastic wrap. In this form, cuttings are stored all winter. The best place is a refrigerator or cellar.

You can also cut the cuttings in the spring and immediately plant them in open ground, or you can put them in a container with water until the roots form. The main thing is to regularly change the water.

For your information! By cutting, not all roses can be propagated.

Reproduction by lateral branches is carried out as follows: the side stems of the bush are bent to the ground. Approximately the middle of the stem is carefully buried in the hole, after making incisions in this place, and then they are watered abundantly.

Before the winter, the root system will have to grow and strengthen, but if the roots are still weak, the branches for the winter are covered with polyethylene.

Diseases, pests and ways to combat them

Of the possible diseases of roses, the most common are the sphere collection and powdery mildew. As a prophylaxis in spring, a rose is sprayed with a solution of iron sulfate or fungicides.

Important! If the rose fell ill during flowering, a sulfur solution is used for spraying: 300 g per 1 liter of water.

Disease

Of the insects that infect the vegetative parts of the plant, there are:

  • weevil;
  • aphids;
  • spider mite;
  • garden crunch.

To prevent the occurrence of insects, it is necessary to regularly loosen the soil and remove weeds, as well as to prevent waterlogging of the soil. If the bush is already infected with it, spray it with insecticides - an actophile or phytoerm.

Important! In the presence of garden raspberry, it is required not only to spray the plant with insecticides, but also to collect insects by hand.

Rosa Sunrise does not require special care, it is resistant to pests and diseases. Regularly taking care of the plant, in return you can get beautiful bouquets of flowers as a reward for care.
